This amazing fall recipe is made with a cinnamon-spiced apple filling and a brown sugar oat topping. The combination of the warm and tender apples, with the crunchy and buttery oat topping, is delicious!! And you can customize it with dried fruits, raisins, or other fruits like blueberries.

Ingredients
The main ingredients of this recipe are:
- Apples: fresh Granny Smith apples, peeled, seeded, and chopped.
- Oats: gluten-free old-fashioned rolled oats.
- Flour: gluten-free all-purpose flour.
- Butter: diced cold unsalted butter.
- Lemon: drops of fresh lemon juice.
- Cinnamon: ground cinnamon (optional).
- Almonds: chopped and toasted almonds (optional).

How to make an easy Apple Crisp with oats
Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C).
In a medium bowl, place peeled, seeded, and chopped apples, sugar, 3/4 teaspoon of cinnamon, and lemon juice. Mix and transfer to a 9” baking dish or similar.
In another bowl, mix gluten-free oats, gluten-free all-purpose flour, brown sugar, and remaining cinnamon. Add the diced cold butter and rub it with your fingertips until crumbs form. Or place all the ingredients in a food processor.


Place the mixture in the baking dish over the apples and sprinkle with chopped toasted almonds or walnuts (optional).
Bake for 40/50 minutes or until golden brown and the apples are bubbling.
Serve warm with a scoop of ice cream or whipped cream.
Storing
Store the dessert covered in the refrigerator for 3 days.
