Gluten-Free Apple Crisp (crunchy and delicious!)

Gluten-Free Apple Crisp is a favorite fall dessert! The warm apple mix with the oat topping is delicious! Super easy to make, and is highly recommended to serve it warm with a scoop of ice cream.

Ingredients
  

  • 6 green apples, peeled and chopped (Granny Smith)
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1 ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • cup brown sugar
  • ¾ cup gluten-free old-fashioned rolled oats
  • ½ cup gluten-free all-purpose flour
  • ¼ cup almond flour
  • ½ cup unsalted butter (113gr) cold
  • Toasted almonds chopped (optional)

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C).
  • In a medium bowl place chopped peeled apples, granulated sugar, 3/4 teaspoon of cinnamon, and lemon juice.
  • Mix everything and transfer to the prepared baking pan, I used an 8´´ square pan.
  • In another bowl mix brown sugar, oats, gluten-free all-purpose flour, almond flour, and remaining cinnamon.
  • Add the diced cold butter into the mixture and rub it with your fingertips until crumb forms.
  • Place the mixture in the baking pan over the apples and sprinkle with toasted chopped almonds (optional).
  • Bake for 40/50 minutes or until golden brown and the apples are bubbling.
  •  Serve warm with a scoop of ice cream.
