Total Time 1 hour hr
- 6 green apples, peeled and chopped (Granny Smith)
- 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
- 1 ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- ⅔ cup brown sugar
- ¾ cup gluten-free old-fashioned rolled oats
- ½ cup gluten-free all-purpose flour
- ¼ cup almond flour
- ½ cup cold unsalted butter (113gr)
- Toasted almonds chopped (optional)
Preheat the oven to 350F (180C).
In a medium bowl place chopped peeled apples, granulated sugar, 3/4 teaspoon of cinnamon, and lemon juice. If you like very sweet desserts you can add another tablespoon of sugar.
Mix everything and transfer to the prepared baking pan, I used an 8´´ square pan.
In another bowl mix brown sugar, oats, gluten-free all-purpose flour, almond flour, and remaining cinnamon.
Add the diced cold butter into the mixture and rub it with your fingertips until crumb forms.
Place the mixture in the baking pan over the apples and sprinkle with toasted chopped almonds (optional).
Bake for 40/50 minutes or until golden brown and the apples are bubbling.
Serve warm with a scoop of ice cream.
