Gluten-Free Apple Berry Crumble Recipe (No Oats)

Apple Crumble is a simple crowd-pleasing GF dessert! It’s easy to make with basic ingredients and no special equipment. It’s perfect when you need a quick dessert that everyone can enjoy. Best warm with a scoop of ice cream!

Ingredients
  

  • 6 apples peeled, seeded, and cubed
  • 1 cup blueberries or mixed berries, fresh or frozen
  • ½ orange zest
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 2 Tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 and 1/3 cup gluten-free all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup cold unsalted butter, diced
  • Almonds, toasted and chopped

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C).
  • Place the peeled, seeded, and cubed apples, the blueberries, and the orange zest in a baking dish. Set aside.
  • By hand: In a medium bowl, mix the cold diced butter, both sugars, and GF all-purpose flour. Rub together with your fingertips until it resembles breadcrumbs.
  • With a food processor: process the gluten-free all-purpose flour, sugars, and cold diced butter until crumbs form.
  • Sprinkle the crumble and the chopped toasted almonds over the apples.
  • Bake for 40 minutes or until golden brown, and the apples are bubbling.
  • Served warm with a scoop of ice cream or whipped cream.

Notes

Store the dessert covered in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
